NATIONAL RECOGNITION

“Rajiv Gandhi Award for National Integration’’ (1992) by the Priyadarshini Academy, Mumbai for Bhavan’s outstanding contribution to National Integration. Particularly through its Sarva Dharma Maitri Pratisthan.

“Communal Harmony Award in-1999” by the Government of India for Bhavan’s Outstanding Contribution to the cause of communal harmony and national integration.

Recognition as an Educational Institution of National Eminence under section 80 (G) (2) (iii.f) of the Income Tax Act. Under this section, donations to the Bhavan will have 100% tax rebate.

“Gandhi Peace Prize” for the year 2002 was awarded to Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan for its significant contribution towards spread of education, integration of the best of ancient and modern values and promotion of peace and harmony among all faiths and communities. Sri.R.Venkataraman, the then President of the Bhavan received the Award on 18th March 2003 from the President of India, Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
